Prime Video's highly acclaimed musical drama, Bandish Bandits, has made a triumphant return with a captivating new season in December 2024. The second season of this beloved series continues the narrative from where the first season concluded. Similar to its predecessor, the second season has garnered favourable reviews, leaving fans eager for the next instalment. The central characters, Radhe (Ritwik Bhowmik) and Tamanna (Shreya Chaudhry), find themselves in a competitive struggle for recognition and acceptance, blending the intricate ragas, rhythms, and bandishes of Indian classical music with the dynamic beats of modern rock and pop. Shortly after the premiere of season 2, Rohan Gurbaxani, who portrays the talented pianist Ayaan Ali, shared significant news regarding the anticipated third season of Bandish Bandits.

Bandish Bandits 3 update

In a recent interview with News 18, Rohan Gurbaxani was questioned about the possibility of a third season for Bandish Bandits. He responded, “Let’s see where the audience takes it. I think based on that, we can definitely discuss what will happen next.” 

Further discussing his character's development, he noted that there has been significant growth from the first episode to the conclusion of the series. In the anticipated third season, Rohan expressed a desire for his character to become more independent, embarking on a journey of self-discovery and musical exploration. He suggested that in the upcoming season, his character might take charge and pursue the creation of his music.

Rohan Gurbaxani on Bandish Bandits 2 receiving praise

Bandish Bandits 2 garnered significant acclaim from both audiences and critics. Discussing the success of the second season, Rohan remarked that it is much more grounded and authentic. 

"It honours both classical and contemporary music. The intricacies are such that even those without a musical background can relate to it. What renders a project timeless is not merely its concept, but the emotions it evokes in the viewers," he stated.

The OTTplay review of Bandish Bandits Season 2 states that "the second season surpasses the first, featuring a strong narrative foundation; however, the absence of Shankar Ehsaan Loy results in a disarray of the musical elements."
