Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is actively engaged in promoting his recent film, Marco, which is performing admirably at the box office. In the course of its Hindi promotional activities, he had a conversation with Gujarat First to elaborate on the film's narrative and its success. Viewers were taken aback by his ability to converse fluently in Gujarati during the interview.

Clips from the interview quickly circulated on X (formerly Twitter), with fans expressing pride in the actor's multilingual abilities. During the interview, he conversed in Gujarati, Hindi, and English, although he is also skilled in several other languages. Unni encouraged his fans in Gujarati to view his film in its Hindi-dubbed version in theatres.

Viewers were excited to witness his seamless language transitions, with one fan remarking, “Bro switching language like Netflix feature.” Another commented, “Unni Mukundan Speaking Languages: Malayalam - Tamil - Telugu - Hindi - English - Spanish & Gujarati. ARRIVAL OF REAL PAN-INDIA STAR!!” A humorous remark noted, “Bruh can easily compete with Google translate.” Many praised him as ‘extremely talented’ for both his acting prowess and linguistic skills.

It is noteworthy that although Unni was born in Thrissur, Kerala, he completed his education in Ahmedabad before returning to Thrissur for his college studies, having spent a significant portion of his life in Ahmedabad. In 2023, he shared photos from a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing, “Thank you, sir, from seeing you afar as a 14-year-old and now finally meeting you, I’m yet to recover! Your, ‘Kem cho Bhaila’ on stage shook me up! It was one big dream that I had to meet you & talk to you in Gujarati!”

Recent work

Unni starred in Jai Ganesh and Marco in Malayalam and Garudan in Tamil in 2024. Marco, released on December 20, is running in theatres and is touted to be one of the most violent Indian films. He is now shooting for a Malayalam film titled Get-Set Baby.
