Hilaria Baldwin is facing criticism online for her reaction towards her husband, Alec Baldwin, during an interview on the red carpet at the opening party for Planet Hollywood Times Square in New York City. Hilaria expressed frustration at Alec for interrupting her while they were discussing their TLC series, The Baldwins, with Extra.

When asked by the interviewer about the possibility of a second season, Alec humorously remarked, “The Hilaria Show,” to which Hilaria responded that they would “see how it feels” to have the show “out there.”

Alec complimented Hilaria, saying, “It’s gonna be great. You’re a winner,” while she was speaking to the reporter. 

Hilaria retorted, “Oh my God. When I’m talking, you’re not talking. No. When I’m talking, you’re not talking.”

Alec apologized, and Hilaria then turned to the camera, laughing, and remarked, “This is why we’ll have to just cut him out of the show.”

She continued her conversation with the reporter as Alec stepped away to engage with someone off-camera.

Social media users have criticized Hilaria for her behaviour towards Alec during the interview. One account on X shared a video clip with the comment, “I’m not an Alec Baldwin supporter, but this clip is shocking. On the red carpet, he’s uplifting Hilaria, saying, ‘It’s gonna be great, you’re a winner,’ and she aggressively responds, ‘No talking while I’m talking!’ TWICE. This displays classic narcissistic control—public humiliation, dominance, and ensuring the focus remains solely on her. He appears completely defeated. While I’m not an expert on their relationship, Hilaria has previously been accused of narcissistic tendencies, and this moment seems like a power play.”

‘She is publicly humiliating him’

Numerous individuals expressed agreement with the user in the comments section of the aforementioned video. One commenter remarked, “She is undoubtedly the dominant partner in this relationship.” Another user stated, “If this is genuine, I am truly astonished that he did not respond to her at all. He has a notorious reputation for being a 'bully,' and witnessing him submit to her in such a manner was quite unexpected. Was this staged? Is this her typical way of addressing him? This is incredibly revealing and entirely inappropriate behaviour,” while another added, “Although I do not believe Baldwin is a commendable individual, he or any man should distance himself from someone like her. She is subjecting him to public humiliation.”

One user commented, “She is an insignificant person who believes she is important, much like Meghan Markle,” while another stated, “Her behaviour is unacceptable.” A further commenter expressed, “I could never envision speaking to my partner in such a manner. Her conduct is beyond the pale.”

Alec Baldwin faced charges of involuntary manslaughter following the tragic shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film Rust. However, the case was dismissed in July of the previous year due to the prosecution's failure to disclose evidence that could have been advantageous to Baldwin's defence.
