Allegations and rumors about celebrities have, over time, started to feel like part and parcel of their jobs, which should not be normalized. Every week, we witness countless speculations about their films, relationships, families, personal lives, and even some topics that should not be discussed in the public domain in the first place. Twinkle Khanna has always been a person who has never held herself back from responding to the wild pool of the internet whenever the troll and rumor mill came to her doorstep. However, she also didn't react to a very serious allegation made against her over a decade ago that said she performed for the wanted gangster Dawood Ibrahim. It turns out the actor-writer is now clarifying her stance and dismissing the rumor.

Twinkle Khanna Breaks Silence

In 2010, Twinkle Khanna was accused of performing at parties for underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim. The allegations shook the nation as every possible media house covered them. It turns out that over a decade and a half later, Twinkle has decided to set the record straight in her Times Of India column, where she has now spoken about the media fabrications and even called them out.

“We have already witnessed a spate of manipulated news stories, from the morphed pictures that showed the Phogats smiling during the wrestler’s protests, to countless stories about the origin of the coronavirus,” she wrote.

"I have even seen my name on a mainstream television channel ticker saying I had performed a medley of songs for Dawood. Considering that even my children think my dancing skills are akin to watching a WWF match between a lone wrestler and gravity, the news channels should have known that Dawood would have chosen more skilled performers. But such is the world of fake news,” Twinkle Khanna added.

Akshay Kumar Had Said

Back in the day, Akshay Kumar had come forward in defense of his wife. The actor, when asked about the allegations in 2010 at a press meet, had said, "I have no idea where all these stories come from. If these stories were true, my house would have been raided. Not a single constable has come to my house from the day this story was reported. These reports do disturb me. But I have spent 20 years in the industry, and by now I have got used to it."
