Renowned Turkish artist Volkan Konak, who collapsed during a concert in Cyprus, has passed away. Ankara's Mayor, Mansur Yavas, paid tribute to Konak on social media, referring to him as the "son of the north."

"Son of the North Volkan Konak has departed... His resonant voice that touched our souls and his songs that embodied the spirited essence of the Black Sea will forever remain in our hearts. He was more than just an artist; he was the voice, heart, and companion of this region. May God grant him mercy, and I extend my condolences to all who loved him. You will always be remembered..." Yavas expressed on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

Following Konak's collapse, medical teams at the concert venue promptly provided first aid. He was subsequently taken to Famagusta State Hospital at approximately 12:17 am, where he was declared dead at 12:42 am, according to Kıbrıs Genç TV.

The hospital issued a statement detailing the events: "On March 30, 2025, at around 23:23, we received a call at the 112 Emergency Call Center. Our emergency health team swiftly arrived at the hotel where the artist was performing. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) was administered for about 40 minutes by the doctors on-site and the 112 team, after which he was intubated and transported to our hospital at 12:10 am."

The hospital reported that the artist was admitted as an "Ex enrollment" at 12:17 AM and was promptly taken to the CPR room. A team comprising an anesthesiologist, emergency room doctors, and specialists in internal medicine and cardiology provided advanced life support (CPR) for a duration of 25 minutes. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, there was no response. Volkan Konak was pronounced dead at 12:42, at which point CPR was discontinued. The hospital expressed, "We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, and loved ones of the late Volkan Konak and pray for his soul's peace."
