Last year, actor Babil Khan faced online criticism for an unexpected reason—his excessive kindness. During a red-carpet event in May 2024, he inadvertently photobombed another attendee and subsequently offered an apology. However, his seemingly excessive remorse drew negative reactions on social media. In an interview , Babil discussed this peculiar situation.

Reflecting on the unkind remarks directed at him for what was essentially a kind and courteous act, Babil stated, "At first, I felt quite upset. I don’t mind the humorous memes; I find them amusing, and some are quite inventive. However, the hurtful comments that some people think are funny but really aren’t make me want to ask, 'Who has hurt you?'. I would be willing to engage in a conversation with them to understand if they are projecting their own pain onto me."

Despite this, Babil mentioned that he eventually moved on, choosing not to invest energy in the incident. "You have to let it go. I question why I should give their opinions so much weight," he clarified.

Babil remains committed to being expressive

Babil emphasized that he is naturally expressive in both his words and actions, and despite the scrutiny he faces, he feels no need to alter his behavior. He elaborated, "This is my true self. I express myself openly. I care about how I communicate. I do feel fear and sometimes regret, but it’s daunting, yet I take the risk to be authentic. If I suppress my true self out of fear, I will lose my individuality. Then, who would I be?"

Babil is set to appear in the tech thriller Logout, which also stars Rasika Dugal, Nimisha Nair, and Gandharv Dewan in significant roles. Having already garnered attention on the international festival circuit, the film, directed by Amit Golani is scheduled for release on Zee5 on April 18.
