Triptii Dimri captured significant attention through her concise yet powerful performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film, Animal. Released in 2023 and featuring Ranbir Kapoor, the film achieved commercial success, although it received mixed reviews, with some critics accusing it of endorsing toxic masculinity. In a recent interview with Filmfare, Triptii explained her reasons for accepting the role, asserting that she did not perceive the film as ‘anti-feminist’.

What Triptii said

During the interview, when Triptii was inquired about her decision to participate in an 'anti-feminist' film immediately following Qala, she responded: "I do not perceive it as an anti-feminist film. I refrain from assigning such labels to films. Even while working on Bulbbul and Qala, I never considered that I was engaging in a feminist narrative. My connection with the characters, my trust in the directors, and my belief in the project motivated my participation. When I was presented with the role in Animal, I met with Sandeep [Reddy Vanga] sir, who provided an explanation. He did not divulge much about the overall story but focused on my character. What intrigued me was that I have primarily portrayed virtuous characters who elicit sympathy, and I found this opportunity to explore a different character quite appealing."

She further elaborated, “He expressed a fascinating perspective. He wished to see innocence and kindness reflected in my eyes, while internally, I should possess a mission in my heart that I aspire to achieve. The challenge of reaching that point became my responsibility. I found this task both demanding and intriguing, which ultimately led me to accept the role. Naturally, the allure of participating in a major film was appealing. Prior to this, I had acted in projects like Bulbbul and Qala, and the offers I received were predominantly for similar types of films. I would have been delighted to continue in that vein. However, at that moment, securing a significant film was a considerable opportunity for me. Perhaps it would allow me to acquire new insights and witness the process of creating large-scale films.”

In 2024, Triptii appeared in several films, including Bad Newz alongside Vicky Kaushal, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with Rajkummar Rao, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 featuring Kartik Aaryan. She is set to star next in Dhadak 2 opposite Siddhanth Chaturvedi.
