Travis Kelce experienced feelings of sadness and disappointment upon witnessing his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, being booed during the Super Bowl held in New Orleans on Sunday night.

The pop icon, who was featured on the jumbotron at the Superdome, faced jeers as the Philadelphia Eagles decisively defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, marking a challenging evening for the renowned tight end.

Kelce's reaction to this unexpected event, which led former US President Donald Trump to comment that she had a “tougher night than the Chiefs,” has been reported by the Daily Mail.

According to a source close to Kelce, “Travis was aware of Taylor being booed and felt powerless. The expression on her face affected him deeply.” 

The insider emphasized that Kelce consistently seeks to “protect” her, and this incident profoundly “broke” his heart. “He was already having a difficult night, and the fact that the crowd was largely composed of Eagles supporters only exacerbated the situation. Travis understands that this impacted her, and it is evident to anyone observing.”

Taylor, originally from Pennsylvania and a prior supporter of the Eagles, is viewed by some Eagles fans as a kind of "traitor." 

Travis expressed that it was unwarranted for Trump to mock her, particularly after he remarked on the honour of a president attending the event, according to a source. 

The source further indicated that it has been a challenging week for the couple, as Travis faced defeat in the year's most significant game, and Taylor did not secure a win in any of the six Grammy categories. Nevertheless, he recognizes that despite this disappointing conclusion to the season, her love brings him immense happiness.

Taylor faced a negative response owing to her allegiance to the Chiefs and the significant presence of Eagles supporters.

In reaction to the taunting, Taylor reportedly said, “Aww what, what's going on,” as interpreted by a lip reader, according to the Daily Mail.

The fans relentlessly mocked her, prompting her to give a scornful side-eye, marking the onset of a challenging evening for the Chiefs' supporters.
