The question arises: did Tovino's rising fame influence his portrayal of Jathin Ramdas in L2 Empuraan? Murali Gopy, the writer of both Lucifer and L2 Empuraan, asserts that it did not, providing his reasoning.

In a recent discussion with Asianet News, Murali Gopy was queried about whether Tovino Thomas' increasing stardom posed any challenges in shaping his character Jathin Ramdas in Empuraan.

“Not at all,” the esteemed writer responded, emphasizing that Lucifer is a narrative with continuity. He noted that the franchise consists of three installments, stating, “We have already determined the character’s trajectory in our minds, and that continuity will be maintained in the subsequent parts.”

“Not only Tovino’s character, but we have not tailored any of the roles based on the actors' star power. This film is heavily focused on content,” Murali Gopy elaborated, highlighting his experience with other significant films such as Left Right Left.

For those unfamiliar with Lucifer, Tovino Thomas portrays Jathin Ramdas, the son of PK Ramdas. The 2019 film chronicles the aftermath of CM PK Ramdas’ demise, as Jathin returns to the state to participate in the elections. Tovino’s memorable line, ‘Mundu udukkanum ariyam… venel madakki kuthanum ariyam!’ resonated strongly with audiences.

In Empuraan, Tovino will reprise his role as Jathin Ramdas. It remains to be seen how his character will evolve in the second installment of the Lucifer series, with fan theories about his character arc already circulating online.

In the meantime, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2 Empuraan is set for a grand worldwide release on March 27, 2025. Mohanlal will return as Stephen Nedumpally, also known as Khureshi-Abraam, alongside Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and others.
