Jenner chose to wear an elegant black fur coat paired with sunglasses, while Timothée sported a New York Yankees zip-up jacket, complemented by a snapback hat and a patterned scarf.

Chalamet and Jenner's joint appearance was ultimately eclipsed by the backlash faced by the esteemed actor for making a joke regarding former US President Jimmy Carter, who passed away last month at the age of 100.

This past weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live included a skit titled 'Bungee,' in which Timothée Chalamet portrayed a fictional workout instructor. As he guided the participants, his character instructed them to perform the "Jimmy Carter." In response to his direction, the other participants feigned hanging lifelessly in their harnesses from the ceiling.

The studio audience reacted with audible gasps and groans at this moment, while viewers at home expressed their disapproval, criticizing both Chalamet and SNL for what they deemed a "distasteful" stunt.

A user expressed on X/Twitter, “This is quite unnecessary. Can you imagine being a writer who conceived that idea?” Numerous others criticized it for being “inappropriate” and “lacking humour.” Another individual remarked, “Completely disrespectful and inappropriate. While I appreciate humour and enjoy the show, that was simply dreadful and premature. I doubt there would ever be an appropriate moment for such content. I sincerely hope his family did not come across it.” A third user added, “It is too early and not amusing! The entire skit was subpar.”

A fourth individual criticized Chalamet for potentially jeopardizing his chances of winning the Best Actor Oscar in March due to an inappropriate joke made on SNL, as reported by the New York Post. The actor is nominated in the leading category for his performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. The commenter expressed frustration, stating, “If I were a betting man, I would have wagered on Timothee Chalamet securing an Oscar for his portrayal of Dylan, but his tasteless joke about Jimmy Carter on SNL, occurring a full month before the voting concludes, alters that perspective. It is both insensitive and quite immature. Completely unnecessary.”
