Timothée Chalamet really made a splash on Saturday Night Live this week, stepping in as both the host and the musical guest. This marks his third time hosting, and he brought his usual charm and humor to the show, playfully teasing his own Hollywood mishaps — like his ongoing quest for an Oscar and the debates about his facial hair.

Timothee Chalamet pokes fun at himself during his SNL appearance

The actor, taking on the role of show host, had a good laugh at his own expense while recalling the jokes he received at the Golden Globes 2025. Chalamet joked about his new facial hair, saying, “This is my third time hosting Saturday Night Live, but the first time with a little stache and a little goatee.” As the camera zoomed in on his facial hair, he quipped, “Yeah. That’s 37 hairs right there,” according to The New York Post.

He then shared his feelings about always coming up short in award nominations, humorously stating, “I just keep losing, and each time it gets harder to pretend it doesn’t sting.” This was followed by a funny video montage of his reactions as presenters called out names like Gary Oldman and Mahershala Ali for the awards.

Chalamet also attempted to rehearse his acceptance speech, but when the mock award was announced, it went to SNL cast member Kenan Thompson, just like in real award shows. Thompson had his own acceptance speech ready to go.

Chalamet takes the stage on SNL to sing some Bob Dylan tunes

Before taking the stage, Chalamet teased that the Bob Dylan songs he’d be performing might not be the biggest hits, but rather his personal favorites. He joked, “[SNL is] either really nice for letting me do this or incredibly mean and this is all a big prank.”

For his debut musical act, Adam Sandler introduced Chalamet. Staying true to his word, he treated the audience to some of Dylan's lesser-known tracks. He kicked things off with a heartfelt version of "Three Angels," followed by "Outlaw Blues." Later on, he really tapped into his emotional side with a haunting performance of Dylan’s "Tomorrow is a Long Time."
