Actor Tiger Shroff made a notable entrance into Bollywood with his 2014 film Heropanti, which achieved considerable commercial success. Nevertheless, his career trajectory in the film industry has experienced a mix of successes and challenges. He embraces setbacks as part of his journey and acknowledges that they inspire him to strive for greater heights.

Tiger discusses his experiences in Bollywood, his approach to handling failures, and his recent participation in a fashion show for Tarun Tahiliani in Mumbai during the Blenders Pride Fashion Week Tour.

On his Bollywood journey

Following his initial appearance, the actor experienced significant success with films like Baaghi, War, and Singham Again. However, he also encountered challenges with projects such as A Flying Jatt, Student of the Year 2, Ganapathy, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

In reflecting on his career trajectory, Tiger shares, “The most pivotal moment in my career was my debut in Heropanti. It was my introduction to the audience and established the foundation for my path. However, it was Baaghi that truly led people to connect me with action and dynamic performances, which ultimately defined my place in the industry.”

On dealing with failure

Tiger believes that failures are a crucial component of personal development and achievement. 

"Challenges and difficulties compel one to reflect and evolve. If everything were handed to you effortlessly, you would never strive to exceed your boundaries. Each failure presents a chance to return with greater strength, and I think that distinction is what sets apart those who thrive in this industry from those who do not," states the son of actor Jackie Shroff.

Having been raised in the industry, Tiger perceives a significant misunderstanding about Bollywood: that it is merely about "glamour and effortless success."

"People overlook the years of hardship, the rejections, and the discipline required for every role. A successful career here demands unwavering commitment, resilience, and continuous growth—while luck may provide an opportunity, it is hard work that ensures you remain relevant," he emphasizes.

On being a role model

As a notable personality within the entertainment sector, Tiger understands the importance of utilizing his celebrity influence to highlight critical social concerns.

"Public figures and influencers possess extensive reach, which carries a significant responsibility. Whether it involves raising awareness about vital issues or motivating individuals to pursue their aspirations, our words and deeds hold weight. I strive to use my platform to advocate for fitness, positivity, and self-discipline, as these are the values I genuinely uphold," he acknowledges.

On walking the ramp

Tiger recently made a striking appearance as a highlight of the fashion show in Mumbai, where he revealed that this was only his second experience walking the runway.

"I have walked the runway once before in my life. Therefore, I was thrilled to participate in a prestigious event like the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour and to showcase Tarun Tahiliani's collection. To be honest, I typically defer to the designers, as I prefer not to challenge their vision and perspective, particularly in the realm of fashion. I maintain an open mindset in that regard," he stated.

When discussing his fashion philosophy, Tiger remarked, "My fashion selections are influenced by comfort, practicality, and a touch of edginess. I favour garments that facilitate movement, whether they are structured streetwear or classic tailored outfits. Given that martial arts and fitness are significant aspects of my life, I tend to lean towards styles that provide comfort while being both athletic and stylish."
