Thug Life, the action-drama film, marks the second collaboration of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam. The actor-director duo is joining hands after a long gap of 37 years, for the film. The much-awaited project also features popular actor Silambarasan TR, in a pivotal role. Reportedly, the Thug Life team has finally wrapped up the shooting of the project, which went on floors in February 2024. The recent pictures of Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, and Silambarasan, suggest that the team recently had the film’s wrap party.

Thug Life shoot is wrapped up

As per the recent updates, Kamal Haasan, director Mani Ratnam, Silambarasan, and the rest of the team recently wrapped up the principal photography of Thug Life. Later, the trio reportedly had a low-key wrap party, along with the rest of the cast and crew members of the project. In the pictures which are now going viral on social media, the three pillars of Thug Life are seen posing with the team, and actress Suhasini Mani Ratnam, who joined them for the celebrations.

Thug Life to get a Summer 2024 release?

Initially, one of the co-producers of Thug Life suggested that the team is planning to release the film in December 2024. Later, it was reported that the movie might get pushed to 2025, and will hit the theatres during the Pongal season of next year, most probably. However, the latest updates suggest that director Mani Ratnam and his team are planning to take enough time for the post-production, and are in no hurry to release the film. Reportedly, Thug Life will hit the theatres only during the summer season of 2025, mostly in April.

Kamal Haasan appears as Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakar in the action drama, which reportedly stars Silambarasan in the role of his son. Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Delhi Ganesh, Nasser, Abhirami, Joju George, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and others appear in the supporting roles. AR Rahman has composed the songs and original score for the film. Ravi K Chandran is the director of photography. Thug Life is jointly produced by RKFI and Madras Talkies.
