What happened
On December 4, a premiere event for Pushpa 2: The Rule took place at the theatre in RTC X Roads. Arjun was present at the premiere alongside his co-star Rashmika Mandanna and his wife, Allu Sneha Reddy. According to the police, as reported by PTI, neither the theatre management nor the actor provided prior notification regarding their attendance.
The actor's presence led to a chaotic situation at the theatre, resulting in the tragic death of 35-year-old Revathi. She and her young son lost consciousness during the commotion, with Revathi being declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while her son was admitted in critical condition. The police administered CPR to both individuals before transporting them to the medical facility. This incident occurred as fans rushed forward to catch a glimpse of the actor entering the venue.
A report indicates that a case has been filed against Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre management under sections 105, 118 (1), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station, following a complaint lodged by the family of the deceased.
Allu Arjun offers ₹25 lakh compensation
Allu Arjun has subsequently provided a compensation of ₹25 lakh to the family and has committed to covering the boy's medical expenses. During a press conference in Hyderabad on Saturday, he expressed his apologies to the family, stating, “The amount I have offered (₹25 lakh) is merely a gesture to demonstrate our support. I do not wish to intrude upon their grieving process; I am allowing them their privacy. While I cannot alleviate their loss, I intend to visit them once they are able to recover. I will assist them in any manner possible.”
