The eagerly awaited biopic centered on Britney Spears is progressing, as Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to her acclaimed memoir, ‘The Woman in Me.’ Jon M. Chu, known for directing ‘Wicked,’ has been appointed to helm the project.

“Britney is a significant figure for many Gen Z girls; they have grown up listening to her music, and to them, she is truly an icon,” a source shared with Life & Style. “With Jon M. Chu both writing and directing, coupled with the existing buzz surrounding the film, it is perceived as a pivotal opportunity for careers. There is considerable speculation about who will land the role, creating a competitive atmosphere.”

In the midst of the excitement regarding the casting of the pop legend, Life & Style indicates that three young actresses are currently competing for the part.

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande is said to be under consideration for the biopic, especially following her recent partnership with director Jon M. Chu on 'Wicked.'

According to a source who spoke to Life & Style, "Ariana is a devoted admirer of Britney, and she has a strong connection with Jon after their collaboration on Wicked, demonstrating her dedication to securing a role. There are numerous prominent contenders vying for this part, so the competition is certainly intense."

Sabrina Carpenter

Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter is also being evaluated for the role.

"A variety of pop artists are vying for this opportunity, including Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande," a source informed the publication.

Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobby Brown is actively pursuing the role, even going so far as to change her hair color to blonde.

"Millie Bobby Brown has been vocally advocating for this part, and many believe her decision to go bleach blonde is a strategy to help others envision her in the role," an insider shared with Life & Style.

Nevertheless, it seems that the singer of ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ may not share the same level of excitement regarding the young actress.

“Millie Bobby Brown is so eager to portray Britney that those around her feel it has become her primary focus at this time," the source informed the Daily Mail. “She is convinced she was destined for this role … The issue is that Britney does not agree. She does not see the likeness.”
