Vinayakan and Alencier Ley Lopez are two prominent Malayalam actors known for their candidness in media interactions. Both have had the opportunity to work alongside the legendary Rajinikanth in the films Jailer and Vettaiyan, respectively, although Alencier's involvement was limited to a single day, which nonetheless allowed him to witness Amitabh Bachchan's performance.

During a press conference preceding the release of Alencier’s Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal, many inquiries directed at Joju George revolved around his experiences in Tamil cinema. In response, the seasoned actor chose to reflect on his own journey, highlighting his shared screen time with both Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan in Vettaiyan.

Alencier: Did Vettaiyan just to see Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan perform

Alencier remarked on his decision to participate in Vettaiyan primarily to observe the performances of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. “I didn’t receive any remuneration,” he stated. “I was provided with a flight ticket to Mumbai and accommodations in a five-star hotel. My role was merely to sit as a judge for one shot, flanked by Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth.”

The actor from Maheshinte Prathikaaram explained that he accepted the role in TJ Gnanavel's Vettaiyan, despite its brevity, to witness the acting prowess of two of the nation's most celebrated stars.

“During my pre-degree days, I witnessed Rajinikanth stopping a helicopter mid-air with his teeth in a film. I was eager to observe his acting techniques,” Alencier noted. “It was a one-day shoot. His performance is characterized by a unique style, where he utilizes body language effectively, exiting the courtroom, while Amitabh Bachchan’s character delivers a powerful roar, leaving the judge in astonishment.”

Alencier expressed that following their performance, he came to the realization that he “couldn’t compete with them.” He remarked, “I lack the stylized acting skills and a powerful voice. My capabilities are limited to acting in films directed by Dileesh Pothan, Sharan Venugopal, and Rajeev Ravi. It became evident to me that these two are not capable of acting,” he stated. The film Vettaiyan also featured renowned Malayalam actors Fahadh Faasil and Manju Warrier, whose talents were significantly underutilized in the production, which is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Alencier: I know I might not get another film in Tamil again

Alencier, recognized for his roles in films such as Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum and Appan, conveyed his belief that he might not secure another role in the Tamil film industry following his remarks. “I am simply being truthful. My intention was to observe their performances, not to pursue a film in Tamil or to become actively involved there,” he explained, adding that he hopes to receive roles that he merits and is unafraid to request the characters he wishes to portray.

His most recent project is Sharan’s Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal, where he shares the screen with Joju George and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
