The Weeknd has declared the cancellation of his much-anticipated performance at the Rose Bowl, which was set for January 25th, due to the persistent wildfires impacting Los Angeles County. In an Instagram post dated January 13, the artist, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, stated that his choice was made "out of respect and concern" for those affected by the situation. Furthermore, the launch of his upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, has been postponed, with the new release date now scheduled for January 31.

The Blinding Lights artist expressed on Instagram, “This city has consistently served as a significant source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with all those affected during this challenging period. Consequently, I have made the decision to postpone the release of my album to January 31st. My priority is to assist in the recovery of these communities and support the remarkable individuals as they work towards rebuilding,” concluding the message with “Love, Abel.”

The Rose Bowl Stadium, originally designated as the venue for the singer's performance, has been repurposed as a centre for collecting donations to assist those affected by the Eaton Canyon wildfire, according to a report by The Mirror US.

Fans eagerly anticipating his concert expressed their disappointment, with one individual commenting, “Mixed emotions, but Abel has always been genuine. Will the online orders also be delayed?” Another fan remarked, “This is truly unfortunate, but you are making the right decision!”

According to Ticketmaster, fans who purchased tickets will receive “a refund to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase.” Refunds are expected to be processed within a timeframe of 14 to 21 days. Those who acquired their tickets through third-party resellers such as StubHub, SeatGeek, or other platforms are advised to reach out to the respective point of purchase for specific refund information and assistance.
