Akshay Kumar, renowned for executing his own remarkable stunts in films, recently shared insights about his "most challenging stunt" during an interview with The Quint. The actor recounted an incident where veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt left the set in fear for his safety.

Akshay about his most challenging stunt

Regarding his most difficult stunt, Akshay described an experience while filming Angaaray, where he had to leap from the seventh floor of one building to the fourth floor of another, separated by a narrow road. He stated, "In Angaaray, there was a stunt where I needed to jump from the seventh floor of a building. There was a one-lane road in between, and another building on the opposite side. I had to make the jump from the seventh to the fourth floor. During this, my director ran away."

He elaborated, "Mahesh Bhatt was directing me, and before I could execute the stunt, he simply ran off. He exclaimed, ‘I don’t want to watch, he’s going to die.’ He left, so I completed that shot without my director present."

Angaaray, released in 1998, is an action film directed by Mahesh Bhatt. The film, which drew inspiration from the American movie State of Grace, featured a cast that included Nagarjuna, Akshay Kumar, Pooja Bhatt, and Sonali Bendre. Despite its impressive lineup, the film underperformed at the box office, grossing only ₹3 crore against a production budget of ₹5 crore.
