Actor Saif Ali Khan possesses the Pataudi Palace, which is his ancestral residence located in Haryana. He has previously remarked that although he was entitled to inherit the property, he ultimately had to reclaim it through the earnings he generated from his film career. In a 2019 interview with Mid-Day, Saif stated that despite his privileged background, he did not receive any inheritance.

Why Saif Ali Khan bought back Pataudi Palace

Saif remarked, "Individuals tend to hold a specific, unchanging perception. For instance, following my father's passing, Pataudi Palace was leased to Neemrana Hotels. Aman Nath and Francis Wacziarg managed the establishment. After Francis's demise, he mentioned that I could inform him if I wished to reclaim the palace. I expressed my desire to have it back. They convened a meeting and stated, 'Very well, but you must provide us with a substantial sum of money!' Subsequently, I earned the required amount."

When Saif said there was 'no inheritance'

He remarked, “Thus, the house I was meant to inherit has been acquired through the earnings from films. One cannot rely on the past. At least in our family, that is not an option, as there was nothing to begin with. We possess history, culture, exquisite photographs, and, naturally, some land. My upbringing has been one of privilege. However, there has been no inheritance.”

About Pataudi Palace

As reported by Architectural Digest, the Pataudi Palace encompasses an area of 10 acres. The estate features around 150 rooms, which include seven dressing rooms, seven bedrooms, and seven billiard rooms. Following the passing of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Saif's father, the palace was leased to Neemrana Hotels, which managed it as a luxury property until 2014.

Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was married to the esteemed actress Sharmila Tagore. Their offspring include Saif, Soha Ali Khan, and Saba Ali Khan. Saif is wed to actress Kareena Kapoor, and together they have two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. Additionally, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan are Saif's children from his former marriage to Amrita Singh. About Saif's knife attack

Saif has recently garnered media attention due to a stabbing incident that occurred at his residence in Bandra last week. Following the attack, he was promptly taken to Lilavati Hospital for medical treatment. He was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. The injuries Saif sustained included stab wounds to his thoracic spine, inflicted by an intruder who allegedly entered his home with the intention of theft.

The suspect, identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, was arrested at Hiranandani Estate in Thane while attempting to escape to his hometown. According to police reports, he is originally from the Jhalokati district in Bangladesh and is currently in police custody.
