Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya is awaiting the release of her web show, The Magic of Shiri. After a year-long delay, the series is scheduled to be released on JioCinema and OTTplay Premium. Before the show's release on November 14, OTTplay interviewed Divyanka, who spoke about how she received criticism in real life, like her character Shiri Shroff. In the series, Divyanka's character Shiri gets criticism after she fulfills her dream of becoming a magician.

In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya revealed her character in The Magic of Shiri had no options as such. In Divyanka's words, Shiri had only one option which was to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a magician. However, she was criticized by people for fulfilling her dream.
The actress faced something similar in real life. "Similarly, for me, I had no film or television background. So, just to think that I could come and shift base to Mumbai, was a difficult decision for my family as well. There were a lot of people around to criticize. Jo keh rahe the ki aap bohot galat decision le rahe bachhi ko aise shehar bhej kar. People don't know how this city is. They just believe the things that are said. Kuch logo ko darr tha ki unke parivaar ya khandaan ka naam kharab hoga, etc," revealed Divyanka.
The Magic of Shiri actress further mentioned, "Despite the criticism, I had faith in myself, and my parents, too had faith in me. That worked in our favor. When I came here I did the hard work that I had to apne andaaz mein. Ultimately, those people who criticized, they started feeling proud of me."
