Thandel is among the most anticipated films in Telugu cinema, featuring Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya in the principal roles. The film's pre-release event took place recently in Hyderabad, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga serving as the chief guest. He expressed high regard for both Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, although his remarks regarding Sai Pallavi caught many by surprise.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga commends Sai Pallavi for her values
Sandeep disclosed that after viewing Premam, he was eager to cast Sai Pallavi in Arjun Reddy and even attempted to contact someone in Kerala for this purpose. "I approached an artist coordinator and inquired if he could facilitate Sai Pallavi's involvement. The coordinator asked me about the nature of Arjun Reddy, and I described it as a bold and intense love story filled with strong emotions. I distinctly recall him advising me to abandon the idea of casting Sai Pallavi, as he believed she would never agree to such a role and that I should not waste my efforts," stated Sandeep Vanga.
In a subsequent part of his address, Vanga commended Sai Pallavi, noting that while numerous actresses adapt to the evolving demands of the industry, she has remained steadfast in her values and continues to dominate South Indian cinema.
Sai Pallavi characterized Sandeep Reddy Vanga as unrestrained. She expressed her admiration for him by stating, "Every director ought to possess a powerful voice, and yours is remarkably unfiltered, both on screen and in interviews. It is invigorating to witness someone who remains impervious to external influences."
Sandeep expressed high regard for Naga Chaitanya, noting that he used Chay as a reference point for the costume design of Ranbir Kapoor in the film Animal. He remarked, "I truly admire how Naga Chaitanya presents himself off-screen—his style, demeanour, and even the way he drives his Ferrari. It is incredibly impressive, and I am astonished by his transformation. I sincerely hope that Thandel achieves great success at the box office."
Thandel is directed by Chandoo Mondeti, with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP). Sandeep also recognized DSP's 25-year legacy in the industry, expressing gratitude for the memorable music he has contributed to Telugu cinema. The film Thandel is scheduled for a grand release on February 7, 2025. It remains to be seen whether it will meet the high expectations set for it. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
