The major update was dropped by the banner KVN Productions, which bankrolls the film, recently. As you may know, the highly anticipated project will mark Vijay’s final outing in Tamil cinema, before an indefinite break from the industry. Earlier it was reported that Samantha Ruth Prabhu was approached for Thalapathy 69. However, recent updates suggest that Pooja Hegde might play the female lead in the film.

Thalapathy 69 cast: Not Samantha, but Pooja Hegde to play the female lead?

Earlier, it was reported that Samantha Ruth Prabhu was in talks to play the female lead opposite Thalapathy Vijay, in the upcoming H Vinoth directorial. The reports came out as a big surprise for the audiences, who loved Samantha and Vijay’s crackling onscreen chemistry in films like Kaththi, Theri, and Mersal. Thalapathy 69 was expected to mark the popular stars’ fourth outing together. However, The Family Man actress is reportedly not a part of the prestigious project.

If the recent updates are to be believed, Pooja Hegde is in talks to play the female lead opposite Thalapathy Vijay, in the highly anticipated film. In that case, Thalapathy 69 might mark the popular actress’s second collaboration with the actor-politician. For the uninitiated, Pooja Hegde earlier shared the screen with Vijay in the 2022-released Nelson Dilipkumar directorial, Beast. Even though the movie received negative reviews from the audiences and critics, the onscreen chemistry of the fresh onscreen pair impressed the viewers.

Thalapathy 69 cast: Here’s what we know

Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar is reportedly in talks to play a pivotal role in Thalapathy 69. Mamitha Baiju, the young Malayalam actress who is best known for her role in Premalu, is expected to play a key role. The grapevine also suggests that Thalapathy Vijay might team up with his iconic onscreen pair Simran for the film. However, none of these reports are officially confirmed yet. Anirudh Ravichander is composing for the project, which is bankrolled by KVN Productions.
