Telugu singer Kalpana Raghavendar reportedly attempted suicide at her residence in Hyderabad. According to news agency PTI, citing police sources, she was discovered unconscious at her home on Tuesday evening.

Kalpana Raghavendar has been hospitalized. The police arrived at her residence after receiving a report from the Residents' Association, and they forcibly entered the premises. Upon their arrival, they found her in an unconscious state and promptly transported her to a hospital.

Kalpana had sleeping pills

It has been reported that Kalpana ingested sleeping pills. Medical professionals attending to her indicated that further information would be available once she regained consciousness, as stated by a police official from the KPHB Police Station. Her current condition is described as "out of danger."

Regarding Kalpana's situation, she is presently in stable condition at a private hospital in Nizampet. Her husband, Prasad, reached out to community members for assistance when she failed to answer his calls, as he was in Chennai at the time. It had been two days since anyone had been in contact with her.

Police is investigating

The police are conducting an investigation into the matter. Prior to this incident, Kalpana had returned to Hyderabad from Kerala for an event. According to PTI, the authorities are verifying the circumstances that led the singer to take such drastic measures. Fellow singers Geeta Madhuri, Sunitha, and others have visited her in the hospital.
