In a surprising development in the ongoing legal dispute related to the film It Ends With Us, Taylor Swift may now find herself at the heart of the conflict between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The singer, who has had a close friendship with Lively in the past, became involved in the controversy following Lively's allegations of sexual harassment against Baldoni, which were brought to light in a lawsuit filed last December.

Swift’s silence on Lively’s sexual assault case raises questions

Sources informed the Daily Mail that Taylor Swift seems to have distanced herself from her close friend, who has made allegations of sexual harassment against a man, despite being the godmother to her children. The source further mentioned that the singer of "Lover" successfully pursued legal action against DJ David Mueller for battery and sexual assault.

Swift alleged that the musician inappropriately touched her at an event in 2013. After the lawsuit, Mueller attempted to file a defamation suit against Swift; however, she countered with her lawsuit, ultimately receiving a symbolic $1 in damages and prevailing in court.

In the aftermath of this legal confrontation, Swift committed to donating to various organizations that assist sexual assault victims in advocating for themselves. In 2016, she garnered attention for her substantial contribution of $250,000 to fellow artist Kesha, aiding her in covering legal expenses during her ongoing dispute with former producer Dr. Luke (Lukasz Gottwald), whom Kesha accused of sexual assault and psychological manipulation.

Swift's support was particularly significant for Kesha, who was striving to terminate her contract with Gottwald. Despite a legal resolution reached in 2023, Gottwald has continued to refute the allegations against him, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The insider conveyed to the publication, "Taylor is a victim of sexual assault and dedicated over a year to a case she was confident she would win. She has contributed to funds for sexual assault victims," adding, "If Taylor genuinely supported Blake, wouldn’t she want to publicly endorse her?"

Swift's silence likely to advantage Baldoni’s case

A source informed the media outlet, “Some individuals believe that [Taylor] should be providing support and utilizing her platform to mobilize Swifties in favor of what is just. Instead, Taylor seems to have withdrawn and is avoiding the public spotlight. This may significantly impact Justin's defense.”

Baldoni asserted in his legal filing that Lively employed her "megacelebrity friend" to intimidate him during a discussion regarding modifications she made to a rooftop scene in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel. He alleges that the meeting, which reportedly included Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, was a charged encounter intended to coerce him regarding the script revisions. Baldoni contends that the “subtext” of the pop star’s presence at the meeting implied that he “needed to adhere to Blake's guidance for the script.”

Although Swift has not addressed the allegations leveled against her, insiders have indicated that her silence on the matter and her hesitance to support her long-time friend could adversely affect Lively’s standing. The source remarked, “If Taylor does not side with Blake, she will be the pivotal factor in this case.”
