Taylor Swift is said to be distancing herself from her close friend Blake Lively after feeling inadvertently involved in the actress's legal troubles with Justin Baldoni. 

The singer of "Cruel Summer" found herself unexpectedly caught up in the controversy when Baldoni claimed in his $400 million lawsuit that Lively had utilized Swift to exert pressure on him during a meeting with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. 

The director of It Ends with Us asserted that Swift's attendance at the meeting led him to feel compelled to adhere to Blake's guidance regarding the script for their film It Ends with Us.

Blake Lively's ‘Khaleesi’ claims trigger controversy

Lively is said to have heightened tensions by likening herself to a character from Game of Thrones in her text messages, declaring: “I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have dragons.” In these messages, she seemingly referred to Reynolds and Swift as her “dragons.”

“At this moment, she is distancing herself from Blake Lively because she wishes to avoid becoming further entangled in this situation, which has already exceeded her expectations,” an insider informed the Daily Mail.

“Her friends believe that Blake’s text to Justin, stating ‘I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have dragons,’ was inappropriate and unnecessary, as it was essentially used as a means of intimidation. She was portrayed as a sort of pet or possession.”

Swift reportedly had no intention of attending the meeting but showed up at Lively’s New York penthouse. “Taylor has gracefully distanced herself from the situation. She is mindful of her public image and dislikes being mentioned in this context,” another insider revealed to the British publication.

Previously, Swift appeared to support Lively during her conflicts with Baldoni, as she was seen welcoming the actress and Reynolds at her Rhode Island estate when rumours of discord first emerged.

The last occasion Swift and Lively were seen together was in October, during a double date with Reynolds and Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in Manhattan.
