Fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani recently opened up about his experiences with the Blenders Pride Fashion Week Tour, highlighting his long-standing connection to this iconic event. He shared, “Since 2005, I’ve had the chance to create some incredible shows with Blenders Pride Fashion Show. They’ve done a fantastic job of merging Indian and Western styles, incorporating elements like folk music and tribal dancers. The show is all about pushing the limits of fashion, believing in their designers, and making the impossible happen. When you see the scale and design of the show, it all comes together to create something magical.”

Tarun also discussed what fashion means to him, stressing that it goes beyond just clothing. “At its essence, fashion is about clothes, but it’s really about expressing who you are. You should feel good in what you wear, and it should reflect your identity. It’s not about showing off; it’s about being true to yourself because you live in those clothes,” he said. He touched on luxury as well, saying, “Luxury is about how something feels against your skin. Nowadays, with sustainability becoming more important, people are choosing to buy fewer but more beautiful items that they truly value. The whole concept of fashion has changed.”

Looking at India’s evolution, he remarked, “India has transformed significantly over the years. People are more self-assured now, and we’re entering a new era of fashion in the country. We have a rich textile heritage, and in the past 30-40 years, fashion in India has seen an incredible shift.” Tarun Tahiliani’s thoughts really capture the vibrant and evolving nature of fashion in India, especially in how it blends cultural heritage with modern trends.
