Recently, Tahira Kashyap, the wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana and a talented author-filmmaker, shared an emotional message revealing that she has experienced a relapse of breast cancer after seven years. In her latest post, she discussed the profound connection between hospitals and music, reminiscing about the songs that provided comfort during her visits to the hospital.

Songs Tahira Kashyap listened to during her hospital Visit

On Friday, Tahira shared a reel on Instagram showcasing the music she enjoyed while making her rounds at the hospital. She captioned the post: "There is a profound and surgical connection between hospitals and music! #HospitalChronicles (Listen to each track as you read)."

In the initial slide, she disclosed that her doctor played Shah Rukh Khan’s Kal Ho Naa Ho just before her surgery. She recounted, “As I entered the scanning and imaging area, the doctor, perhaps trying to ease the atmosphere, had his playlist playing. This was the song that accompanied me as I lay down, preparing to go in! I swallowed hard and said, 'Sir, I appreciate your kind gesture, but could you please turn this off?'”

In a subsequent slide, she reminisced about being reminded of the song "Chakku Chhuriyan Tez Kara Lo" from Amitabh Bachchan's film Zanjeer while in the operating theater. She noted, “In the OT, the wonderful anaesthesiologist inquired about my preferred song to listen to before being sedated. As I observed the instruments being arranged and prepared on the trays, this melody played in my mind!”

The post wrapped up with a third slide featuring Aamir Khan’s "Pehla Nasha" as the background music, as she recalled witnessing an elderly woman absorbed in celebrity news: “Hours post-surgery, the doctor encouraged me to take a few laps around the corridor. I had no idea I would overhear other patients discussing the latest news. This 70-year-old lady, with her door slightly open, was intently listening to gossip about an actor’s romantic life and his recent relationship revelations. Moments later, I noticed her emerging from her room, hurrying past me. I could have sworn I heard her exclaim, 'If they can create such a stir, why can’t I!' I have always recognized the influence of cinema—both on and off the screen!”

Tahira's brother-in-law, actor Aparshakti Khurana, responded to the post with, “Bhabhiiiii kamaaaaaal.” Fans also commended her resilience and musical selections. One commented, “The right music truly aids in soothing and healing the body. Wishing you a swift recovery. You are a strong woman.” Another added, “Such an inspiring post. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Tahira Kashyap is back home and recovering

Tahira recently provided an update on her health after experiencing a relapse. Accompanying her message with a selfie, she expressed: “I am surrounded by love and prayers, which feel truly magical. Thank you immensely! I am back home and on the path to recovery. I am aware that many of you are praying for me, including those I may not know personally, and I embrace all your kindness with gratitude. Whether you know me or not, I extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you. This connection transcends personal relationships and embodies Humanity, which represents the highest form of spirituality.”

Last year, Tahira made her directorial debut with the slice-of-life film Sharmajee Ki Beti, available on Prime Video. The film featured notable performances from Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, Saiyami Kher, Parvin Dabas, and Sharib Hashmi, and garnered positive feedback from both critics and viewers.
