This week on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was all about Popatlal’s upcoming wedding with Madhubala. His engagement with her is on the way, when things unfold. Popatlal, excited for the ring exchange ceremony, came across a shock, which became the reason why he ran away from his own engagement. As soon as D-Day nears, Popatlal’s excitement gets fizzled out and it is replaced by disappointment.

Popatlal excited for his wedding with Madhubala

The week on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah began with Popatlal feeding laddoos to all his Gokuldham society friends after his wedding confirmation to Madhubala. He has to get engaged the very next day or a year later. The problem is that they won't find a wedding hall at the end moment. The engagement has to take place between 8.30-9 pm. Popatlal gets a warning to not back out of the wedding.

Popatlal almost cancels on wedding decor

Jethalal asks Babita for a suggestion, and Iyer steps in. He wanted to know what to gift Popatlal on the engagement. Babita tells him that they will give him cash to buy whatever gift Popatlal wishes to buy.

Anjali and Sodhi plan the engagement decor together, and Bhide and Abdul get worried, but have nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, Taarak and Anjali Mehta pick Popatlal's clothes for the engagement ceremony.

Popatlal gets a surprise, but just before he tries to cancel the decorator. The decorator takes it on his ego and tries to cancel the event himself. With that, all the Ladkewale are at the engagement, waiting for the ladkiwale. Dr. Hathi is especially worried because he wants the starters to begin, which will only commence once the ladkiwale are in the room.

Popatlal gets a special entry on his engagement day. He is decked up for the occasion in pearl jewellery and gold turban. Jethalal, who arrives late owing to his weak physical strength, apologizes for the same.

In his second entry, Popatlal just did not make an exit. This got people suspicious that Popatlal has run away from his wedding. He did, briefly, only to come back with an explanation.

Popatlal goes missing from his engagement, Gokuldham society members in trouble

The society members face the consequences of Popatlal going missing. They are tied up and about to be transferred to the police station. Just then Popatlal enters the venue and drops the bomb on why he cannot marry Madhubala. Well, Dr. Hathi does. It is owing to a medical reason. Thus, even though Popatlal loves Madhubala, he cannot marry her.
