Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Gurucharan Singh Sodhi hit the headlines in April 2024 when news about his disappearance surfaced online. A month later, he returned home and it was revealed that he was on a spiritual journey. And now, Gurucharan has finally spoken at length about his disappearance and clarified that it wasn't a publicity stunt. The actor also added that he is now looking for work opportunities.

Gurucharan Singh Sodhi on his disappearance

In an interview with Bombay Times, Gurucharan Singh Sodhi revealed that he went on a spiritual journey and had no plans of coming back. However, the TMKOC actor believes God gave him a sign that made him return home.

"Many people think I planned my disappearance for publicity, but that’s not true. If I wanted publicity, I could have given interviews to talk about the pending dues for my work in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I could have used social media to do that, but I didn’t," he said.

Gurucharan added that he didn't give any media interviews even after returning home. However, he decided to speak up now as he wanted to clarify certain things that people are saying about him.

Gurucharan Singh Sodhi seeks new work opportunities

Continuing the conversation, Gurucharan Singh Sodhi said he wants people from the industry to support him. Since he has returned, the actor is looking forward to taking up new projects. The Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor added that he wants to do a lot of work so that he can pay off all his debts and loans.

That said, Gurucharan also wishes to get married and settle down in life. Once that happens, the actor wants his parents to shift from Delhi to Mumbai so that he can take care of them.

Meanwhile, Gurucharan left TMKOC in 2020 and never returned to the Asit Kumarr Modi show. He had initially quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2013 but he rejoined the sitcom in a year.
