Actor Swara Bhasker has strongly defended her husband, Fahad Ahmad, in response to online trolls criticizing his choice to abstain from celebrating Holi. She utilized social media to express her disapproval of the intrusive remarks made by these individuals.
Swara Bhasker claps back at trolls
On Friday, Swara shared a glimpse of her Holi celebrations with her loved ones on Instagram. The image featured Swara, her husband Fahad Ahmad, and their charming daughter Rabiya enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the festival. While Swara and Rabiya's faces were adorned with vivid Holi colors, Fahad was notably uncolored.
It appears he refrained from participating as he was observing a fast for Ramadan. Nevertheless, many social media users took to the comments to mock the couple, with some questioning why Fahad chose not to engage in the festivities.
One comment stated, “Why didn’t your husband use colors?” while another inquired, “A devoted follower asks: Why didn’t your husband join in the Holi celebrations?”
A social media user remarked, “@reallyswara your husband’s choice not to engage with colors speaks volumes,” while another commented, “@reallyswara you suggest that it is feasible to celebrate the festival without compelling others to join. If you and your husband truly respect each other's beliefs and love one another, they would willingly partake in your celebrations, just as you would in theirs. The problem arises when participation is one-sided.”
Swara did not ignore the criticism and promptly responded. She took to her Instagram stories to share the Holi photos again, along with a pointed message. She stated, “Happy Holi everyone! A gentle reminder: we can celebrate our festivals and spread joy WITHOUT compelling others to take part.”

Swara's work and personal life
Swara entered into matrimony with Fahad Ahmad, a political activist and student leader, in February 2023. In September of the same year, they celebrated the arrival of their daughter, Rabiya. Fahad, who was previously affiliated with the Samajwadi Party, later joined the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction). He is set to run for the Maharashtra Assembly elections in 2024, representing the Anushakti Nagar constituency in Mumbai south-central.
Swara's most recent appearances were in the 2022 films, Jahaan Chaar Yaar and Mimansa. She is anticipated to feature in the upcoming film Mrs. Falani, although a release date has yet to be announced.
