Karan opened up about how SSR played a crucial role in helping him overcome alcoholism. In his chat with ETimes, he said, "After Pavitra Rishta, I had an accident and ended up struggling with alcohol. That’s when Sushant came into my life and really helped me get back on track. He was my support."

In a recent chat with OTTplay, Karan opened up about how Sushant was incredibly smart and played a big role in helping him navigate through tough times. "I’ll always think of him as one of my mentors, someone who really helped me get through," he shared in the interview.

Sushant's first TV show, Pavitra Rishta, was a big deal for him as it marked his acting debut. He became widely known for his role as Manav, a character that stuck with him even after he transitioned to Bollywood films right after his time on the show.

Karan joined the series later on, specifically in its final season (2013-2014), where he played the role of Ankita Karmarkar's husband, who was portrayed by Ankita Lokhande. By then, Lokhande's character, Archana, had already found her partner in Hiten Tejwani's Manav, since Sushant had been part of the show from 2009 to 2011 before moving on to his film career with Kai Po Che. Interestingly, Sushant would still drop by the Pavitra Rishta sets, not just out of gratitude for the show but also because he was dating Lokhande at the time. That’s how Karan and Sushant got to know each other and formed a friendship on set.
