Suraj Venjaramoodu, a National Award-winning actor from Malayalam cinema, is set to make his debut in Tamil films with Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, featuring Vikram and directed by SU Arun Kumar, known for his work on Sethupathi and Chiththa. After nearly 25 years in the industry, Suraj has long wanted to work with both Vikram and Arun. However, when the chance finally arose, he faced a significant challenge: he didn't speak Tamil.

When Arun met Suraj to share the story, Suraj listened attentively but later admitted he didn’t grasp much of it. He decided to take on the role only after confirming with the director that he was a good fit for the character. Once he got the green light, Suraj was ready to jump into the project. However, things were about to get tougher for him once filming started.

On the first day, he had a few scenes with SJ Suryah, but his lines were minimal. By the second day, though, Arun handed Suraj a hefty script filled with numerous lines. The sheer amount was intimidating, but what really freaked him out was that the whole scene was set to be filmed in one continuous take. “I had three panic attacks when I found that out,” the actor joked during a chat with Indiaglitz Tamil.

Suraj jokingly mentioned that he considered making a run for it from the set, but he quickly realized he didn’t know the area where they were filming. “We were in the middle of a forest, so I went back to Arun and said I’d do the scene. When we finally shot it, I noticed Arun was in tears behind the monitor. When I asked him about it, he said he needed another take. Usually, it takes hours to get everything set up for a retake, and it was already 4 am. To my surprise, everything was ready in just half an hour, and we did the scene again,” Suraj recounted. Once again, Arun was in tears, but this time they were tears of joy, Suraj added.
