Sooraj Barjatya on Bada Naam Karenge

Sooraj Barjatya is renowned for his iconic films such as Vivah, Hum Apke Hain Koun...!, and Hum Saath Saath Hai. In a recent interview with NDTV, he discussed the family-centric narrative of Bada Naam Karenge and elaborated on his ability to resonate with the sentiments of contemporary audiences.

He remarked, "I simply observe my surroundings. I pay attention to my children's peers and recognize that what we depict in films or media is often exaggerated. It is important to understand that it is never the complete truth. I believe that young people still need to establish their roots and find a sense of grounding."

He went on to explain that the dynamics between parents and children in India, as illustrated in Bada Naam Karenge, present unique challenges when compared to Western cultures. According to him, Indian children often strive to avoid disappointing their parents and feel compelled to conform to navigate their social environments.

Sooraj remarked that Sony LIV sought a family-oriented program narrated from the viewpoint of younger generations, drawing inspiration from the realms of Vivah and Hum Saath Saath Hai. He expressed that his insights into the elements of family narratives that resonate with viewers are guiding him, and he firmly believes in this approach.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the series will be distinguished by its inherent innocence. Sooraj stated, "What truly differentiates this show is its essence as a genuine love story. I intended to create content that the entire family could enjoy together."
