On Thursday morning, an intruder gained access to Saif Ali Khan's residence and inflicted stab wounds upon him. The actor was promptly transported to the hospital, where he underwent several surgical procedures. Later that afternoon, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were observed arriving at Lilavati Hospital to visit him.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt made a visit to Lilavati Hospital to see Saif Ali Khan following his surgeries. The couple arrived in their vehicle and departed shortly after their meeting with him. Earlier that day, Saif Ali Khan's children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, were also spotted visiting their father at the hospital. In the afternoon, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif's wife, arrived at the hospital accompanied by police security and refrained from engaging with the media.

Kareena Kapoor's sister, actress Karisma Kapoor, along with Saif Ali Khan's sister, Soha Ali Khan, and Kunal Kemmu, were also observed departing from Lilavati Hospital following their visit with the actor.

How Saif Ali Khan got injured

Saif Ali Khan was at his residence in Mumbai with his sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan, when an intruder reportedly entered their home around 2:30 am. The actor was allegedly assaulted while attempting to intervene in a confrontation between his domestic staff and the intruder. Saif sustained several injuries, including one near his spine and another on his neck. He was taken to the hospital at 3:30 am by his son, Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident and have raised suspicions that the domestic staff may have been acquainted with the assailant. A source from the Mumbai police informed The Indian Express, “We believe the staff may have permitted him entry, and a confrontation ensued for some reason. She is being questioned by local police to gather more information about the suspect. Seven teams from the local police are actively working to locate him.”

The actor is now stable and on the path to recovery. He has been placed in the ICU, where medical professionals are closely monitoring his condition.

Doctor Nitin Dange, a neurosurgeon at Lilavati Hospital, provided an update regarding the condition of actor Saif Ali Khan on Thursday afternoon. He informed the media, "Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital at 2 AM following an incident involving an assault by an unidentified assailant. He suffered significant injuries to his thoracic spinal cord, with a knife embedded in his spine. Emergency surgery was conducted to extract the knife and address the leakage of spinal fluid. Furthermore, the plastic surgery team treated two deep lacerations on his left hand and one on his neck. I am pleased to report that Mr. Saif Ali Khan is now completely stable, recovering well, and is no longer in danger."
