About Krypto

Krypto, also known as Krypto The Superdog, is a superhero originating from the DC universe. Previously, he was voiced by Dwayne Johnson in the animated film DC League of Super-Pets released in 2022. However, Superman will represent Krypto's first appearance in a live-action format.

In October, James shared on Instagram that Krypto was inspired by his dog Ozu, whom he adopted shortly after he began writing Superman. He recounted, “Ozu, who came from a hoarding situation with 60 other dogs and had never encountered humans, presented numerous challenges. Upon his arrival, he wreaked havoc in our home, damaging our shoes and furniture, and even chewing through my laptop. It took considerable time before he would allow us to touch him. I often thought, ‘How challenging would life be if Ozu possessed superpowers?’ This reflection led to the creation of Krypto, who ultimately transformed the narrative as Ozu was transforming my life.”
