Actor Sunny Deol has shared his thoughts on the debate over Fawad Khan's comeback to Indian films. In an interview with HT City, he expressed that he has no issue with Pakistani actors getting opportunities in India for this reason.

Sunny was asked about his involvement in patriotic films like Border and Gadar, and whether he thinks Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan should come back to Indian cinema. He responded, “I prefer not to dive into politics because that can get complicated. We’re actors, and our work is for everyone, no matter where they are. Whether someone is watching or not, we’re here for all. So, there’s nothing to worry about. Given how interconnected the world is now, we should embrace a global perspective and welcome more countries; that’s the way forward.”

The debate surrounding Fawad Khan's comeback

In 2016, Pakistani artists faced an unofficial ban from Indian films due to political tensions. However, in 2023, the Bombay High Court rejected a petition aimed at formally banning these artists from working in India. Fawad Khan is making his return to India after several years with the film "Abir Gulaal," directed by Aarti S Bagdi, which features Vaani Kapoor alongside him. MNS spokesperson Ameya Khopkar expressed to Dainik Bhaskar their opposition to the film's release in Maharashtra.

The film is described as "Abir Gulaal is a heartwarming story set against the charming backdrop of London." It promises a love story filled with surprising twists, heartfelt moments, and a touch of magic. Viewers can look forward to a delightful mix of humor, emotional scenes, and the undeniable chemistry between Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor. The film is set to hit theaters on May 9 this year, while Sunny's film "Jaat," directed by Gopichand Malineni, is scheduled for release on April 10.
