12 days ago | 5 Views
Sunny Deol's film Jaat premiered in theaters on April 10. Despite generating considerable anticipation, the movie experienced minimal growth at the box office. In this action-packed film, Sunny portrays Baldev Pratap Singh, a solitary drifter who arrives in a coastal village dominated by the oppressive Ranatunga, played by Randeep Hooda. Sunny's character confronts injustice with his trademark action style. In a recent interview, the actor addressed the tendency to express anger as the predominant emotion in his films, rather than romance.
Sunny Deol says audience likes his anger amid Jaat release
In a conversation with Bollywood Life, Sunny Deol noted that his characters often display anger in a natural manner. He stated, "Every emotion has its significance. I only feel anger when something truly affects me. The characters I portray also experience similar emotions. Generally, people tend to remember those moments rather than when I am involved in a romantic scene."
'I know when I do it wrong,' says Sunny Deol
Sunny further emphasized that it is an actor's responsibility to make their character believable, which he strives to achieve with authenticity.
"I am not entirely sure what occurs; I simply immerse myself in the moment of the scene. I aim to genuinely feel it, and when that happens, it brings a sense of happiness and fulfillment because it feels authentic. I am aware when I do something incorrectly, but if asked to replicate that moment, I find it challenging," he explained.
Jaat box office update
Despite the initial excitement, Jaat garnered only Rs. 7 crore on its second day, which is Rs. 2.5 crores less than its opening day earnings, bringing the total to Rs. 16.5 crore thus far. According to the latest report from Sacknilk, the film's revenue saw a slight increase on its third day, totaling Rs. 25 crore.
Jaat on OTT
Following its theatrical release, the action thriller will be available on Netflix, with the exact release date yet to be finalized.
In Jaat, Sunny portrays the lead character who embarks on a quest for vengeance after his family and village suffer at the hands of a merciless criminal. Randeep Hooda takes on the role of Ranatunga, the villainous figure. The film, directed by Gopichand Malineni, also features Regina Cassandra in a significant role.
