There have been whispers about a supposed conflict between Sudhanshu Pandey and his Anupamaa co-star Rupali Ganguly, especially after he left the show unexpectedly in 2024. But in a recent chat, Sudhanshu cleared the air, stating that there’s no bad blood between them. He reassured everyone that things are good between him and Rupali, putting those rumors to rest.

Sudhanshu Pandey finally speaks up

Sudhanshu recently chatted with Screen about his choice to leave Anupamaa, his well-loved character Vanraj Shah, and the rumors surrounding his relationship with Rupali.

When discussing why he chose to share his departure on social media, Sudhanshu explained, “I felt it was important to let my fans know. Many were curious about where Vanraj had disappeared to, so I wanted to make it clear that I wouldn’t be on the show anymore. I didn’t want them to find out through someone else and feel blindsided or upset. At least I could tell them directly.”

He also tackled the gossip about any tension between him and Rupali, stating, “There are a lot of stories floating around, but what I shared is my truth, and it’s completely accurate. Those rumors don’t reflect reality, so don’t buy into them. Everything is good; the past four years have been amazing. I’ll always treasure my time on Anupamaa. My relationship with Rupali is just fine. We were actually joking around recently over a message on Instagram, so all is well.”

He added that the show will always hold a special place in his heart since he “learned so much from the experience.”

There were whispers about Sudhanshu and Rupali not seeing eye to eye on set when he revealed he was leaving the show. After a solid four years playing Vanraj Shah, Sudhanshu surprised fans by announcing his exit, which led to a wave of other surprising departures. After the 15-year leap in the storyline, several actors, including Gaurav Khanna, Nidhi Shah, and Kunwar Amar Singh, also decided to leave the show.
