In an interview with Game Changers, he stated, "During our era, when we produced even larger musical successes, the only distinction was my view of music as poetry. To me, Anand Bakshi surpassed even Laxmikant Pyarelal and Rahman. I would write the spoken dialogue, while you [Anand Bakshi] crafted the lyrical dialogue. When we composed the 'antara' (stanza), it felt as though he understood my narrative better than I did."

Whether this resurgence will bring back the golden era remains to be seen.
