Rifle Club is now available for streaming! After a short theatrical run of under a month, Aashiq Abu’s Malayalam thriller has made its way to OTT. This film is notable for being Anurag Kashyap’s first venture into Malayalam cinema and also stars Hanumankind, known from Big Dawgs, in his acting debut. You can catch it now on Netflix.

Rifle Club is now available on streaming platforms

Rifle Club hit theaters on December 19 last year and, as per Sacnilk, raked in ₹15.65 crore net and ₹17.75 crore gross in India. The movie got a mix of reviews and had tough competition from Unni Mukundan's Marco, Mohanlal's Barroz, and Suraj Venjaramoodu's Extra Decent. It started streaming on Netflix on January 16, available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Rifle Club is a creation of Syam Pushkaran, Dileesh Karunakaran, and Suhas. Directed and co-produced by Abu, who also handled the cinematography, the film features a talented cast including Anurag, Hanumankind, Vijayaraghavan, Darshana Rajendran, Dileesh Pothan, Vani Viswanath, Suresh Krishna, Vineeth Kumar, and Surabhi Lakshmi. Abu aimed to pay homage to Western cinema while adding an Indian flavor to it.

The tale of the Rifle Club

Rifle Club is all about a showdown between two factions: a gang of arms dealers and a shooting club in Wayanad. When two young guys get into hot water with the son of an arms dealer, they run off looking for help from a superstar. They end up finding refuge in a rifle club, but things heat up when the gang comes after them. The club steps up, using their skills to keep the youngsters safe.

Surabhi, who’s also in the movie, shared a video of Anurag on her Instagram, saying, “We need more people like this guy… his humor and unique style are unmatched. He’s such a groundbreaking filmmaker, and it’s been a true pleasure to be in the same space as him. Rifle Club will always hold a special place in my heart… it’s both a milestone and an incredible adventure.”
