Harshvardhan Rane had committed to undertaking a water-only fast to facilitate the production of a sequel to Sanam Teri Kasam, prior to its actual announcement. He conveyed this intention through a post on Instagram, where he shared a video from his visit to the producers' office. In his message, he stated, "I went below the producers' office to request a re-release; my next step will be to conduct an 11-day water-only fast beneath his office to appeal for Part 2." He reminisced about how, nine years ago, the producers invested their utmost efforts, the director dedicated his labour, the female lead, Mawra Hocane, infused her essence into the film, and the audience has now contributed their tears to Sanam Teri Kasam. "I will give my life for Part 2, Tumhaari Kasam," he vowed.
