This comment suggests that the focus is misplaced, as some perceive the issue as trivializing DUI rather than addressing the misaligned priorities. Another user remarked, "You criticize K-pop idols for their romantic relationships, believing they owe you something while ignoring the real threats that exist."

A tweet lamented, "It is so tragic; she had the potential to accomplish so much more." One user on X suggested that netizens are too quick to judge, stating, "They should not be handing out life sentences for errors as if they were the Supreme Court." Another individual commented on the situation, saying, "This is simply heartbreaking; no one deserves such a fate. The entertainment industry is excessively harsh on young talents." A fan added, "What??? I was eagerly anticipating her role in Bloodhounds S2. The cancel culture in South Korea is overwhelming."

According to Soompi, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station was notified of an incident at approximately 5 PM KST on Sunday. A police representative stated, “There were no indications of criminal activity, such as forced entry, and we are currently looking into the precise details surrounding her death. We respectfully request that the public show consideration for the deceased and her family, and refrain from speculating on the specific circumstances and manner of her passing. We appreciate your understanding that the police are unable to provide confirmation at this time.” She was discovered by a friend with whom she had made plans to meet.

Kim Sae-ron's 2022 DUI case

In December 2022, Sae-ron underwent legal proceedings following an incident involving driving under the influence, during which she collided with several objects on the roadway. This event occurred in the Gangnam District on May 15, 2022, and resulted in the destruction of a transformer, leading to a power outage affecting 57 local businesses. At the time of the incident, Kim Sae Ron's blood alcohol concentration was reported to be 0.2 percent, significantly exceeding the legal limit of 0.08 percent, which warranted the revocation of her driving privileges.

In the aftermath of the incident, she issued a handwritten apology, stating, "I have no excuses for this unfortunate incident, and I feel so ashamed and disappointed in myself for the mistake I made.” In addition to her departure from the series Trolley, she also severed ties with her agency, GOLDMEDALIST. Furthermore, she took a hiatus from Instagram for a year before returning with a transformed appearance.
