Sonu Sood Responds to Arrest Warrant, Claims Celebrities Are "Soft Targets"

Actor Sonu Sood has formally responded to the recent issuance of a non-bailable warrant against him by a court in Ludhiana, related to a fraud case. The warrant was authorized by Ludhiana judicial magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur. On Friday morning, Sonu utilized his X account to clarify that he had been summoned as a ‘witness’ in a case in which he claims no involvement. He also emphasized the need for stringent action regarding the situation.
Sonu's Statement
In his post on X, Sonu stated: “It is important to clarify that the information circulating on social media is significantly exaggerated. To set the record straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a case involving a third party with which we have no connection or affiliation. Our legal team has responded, and on 10th February 2025, we will provide a statement that confirms our lack of involvement in this matter.”
‘This is just for unnecessary media attention’
In concluding his remarks, Sonu stated that they are neither brand ambassadors nor have any affiliations. He expressed disappointment that this situation appears to be a tactic for unwarranted media attention. It is unfortunate that celebrities often become easy targets. He emphasized that they will pursue stringent measures regarding this issue.
The Ludhiana court has instructed the officer-in-charge of the Oshiwara Police Station in Andheri West, Mumbai, to apprehend Sonu Sood.
The court order specified: "Sonu Sood, residing at H.NO 605/606 Casablanca Apartment, has been properly served with summons or warrants, yet he has not appeared and is evading service. You are hereby commanded to arrest and present Sonu Sood before the Court," as reported by the news agency ANI.
The subsequent hearing for this case is set for February 10.
On the professional front, Sonu was recently featured in the action thriller Fateh, which also marked his debut as a director.
