Songs from Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor’s Abir Gulaal Pulled from YouTube Amid Boycott Campaigns

The upcoming movie Abir Gulaal featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor has run into some trouble after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Now, it looks like the film's songs have been taken down from YouTube India due to a lot of calls for a boycott.
Fawad Khan's movie tracks removed
The team behind Abir Gulaal dropped two tracks from the movie -- a romantic one called Khudaya Ishq and a fun dance tune named Angreji Rangrasiya. But guess what? Both songs have disappeared from YouTube! You won't find them on the official channel of A Richer Lens Entertainment. Even Saregama, which holds the music rights, has taken them down from their YouTube page. This move came after a lot of backlash on social media, where folks were criticizing the collaboration between Indian and Pakistani artists following a recent attack. Earlier this week, they teased a new song called Tain Tain set to drop on Wednesday, but it’s still MIA. So far, neither the makers nor the cast have said anything about the songs being pulled from YouTube.

Fawad recently expressed his sorrow on social media about the tragic attack in Pahalgam, stating, "I'm heartbroken to learn about the brutal attack in Pahalgam. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this terrible event, and I hope for strength and healing for their families during this tough time." Tragically, 26 people were killed when terrorists targeted tourists on Tuesday afternoon, marking one of the most devastating terror attacks in Kashmir.
Abir Gulaal's launch is at risk
After the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, there's been a push to halt the release of the movie Abir Gulaal, featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan alongside Vaani Kapoor. People on social media are expressing their concerns about Indian artists working with Pakistani stars during these tough times. Directed by Aarti S Bagdi, the film is set to hit theaters on May 9.
On Thursday, PTI reported that the film Abir Gulaal won't be released in India following the recent terror attack. Government sources confirmed that the movie, featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, is off the table for Indian audiences. Additionally, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reinforced its stance on banning Pakistani artists, urging a total non-cooperation with all Pakistani talent in the Indian film and entertainment scene.
Let's talk about the movie
Abir Gulaal is brought to life by Indian Stories Production, A Richer Lens, and Aarjay Pictures. The movie is produced by Vivek B Agrawal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy. Filmed in London, it stars Lisa Haydon, Riddhi Dogra, Farida Jalal, Soni Razdan, and Parmeet Sethi in key roles.
