Actor Sonam Kapoor got teary-eyed while paying a touching tribute to the late fashion designer Rohit Bal at an event in Gurugram. Clips of her strutting down the runway at the Blenders Pride X FDCI Fashion Tour 2025, which took place on Saturday, started popping up on social media. Rohit Bal passed away last November at the age of 63.

In an Instagram video, Sonam was spotted tearing up as she walked down the ramp. She also acknowledged the crowd with a gesture of folded hands. For the occasion, she donned a white ensemble paired with a stunning, heavily embellished long ivory jacket. Her hair was tied back, and she added a pop of color with some red flowers.
Sonam thinks back fondly on the late Rohit Bal
In a chat with ANI, Sonam expressed her excitement, saying, "I’m thrilled to be here for Gudda. I’ve had the honor of wearing his designs numerous times, and he’s created outfits for me as well. It’s amazing to be part of what might be his final show. It’s all about celebrating heritage and craftsmanship... the goal is to highlight everything that’s beautiful and joyful. That was his essence. I really enjoy wearing clothes that reflect that vibe."
The fashion show celebrated Rohit with a unique runway event showcasing sixty-three notable personalities from different industries. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, fashion designer JJ Valaya, and actors Eesha Gupta, Rahul Dev, and Mughda Godse all took to the runway to honor the late fashion designer.
Sonam writes a message for Rohit
Sonam shared a collection of her photos and videos on Instagram. She expressed, "It was a privilege to walk in honor of the legendary Rohit Bal at @fdciofficial x @blenderspridefashiontour. His creativity, vision, and impact on Indian fashion are truly immeasurable. Walking the runway in his memory was a heartfelt and inspiring experience—celebrating a designer who is, and will always be, an icon."
Sonam's work initiatives
Sonam recently appeared in the movie Blind, which was directed by Shome Makhija. This crime thriller featured Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey in key roles. Blind made its debut on July 7, 2023. This film was Sonam's comeback to acting after taking a break for maternity. According to ANI, she has also signed on for two new projects, with more details expected to be revealed soon.
