On Friday, actress Sonakshi Sinha shared a lighthearted post on Instagram, featuring solo photographs and extending Holi greetings to her fans. However, she was compelled to restrict comments on her post after facing criticism from trolls who speculated about the absence of her husband, Zaheer Iqbal, in the images.

Sonakshi Sinha hits back at trolls

Sonakshi shared a series of images on her social media, showcasing her face and hands adorned with gulaal. Clad in white attire, the actress appeared joyful as she basked in the sunlight, striking playful poses in several shots. In her post, she expressed, “Holi haiiiiiiii!!! Rang barsao, khushiyaan manao!! Happy Holi mere doston, from the shoot of Jatadhara. (Throw colors, spread happiness. Happy Holi, friends)”

Nevertheless, some individuals began posting remarks such as, “I can confidently assert that Zaheer cannot celebrate Holi with this woman” and “Your father consented, but your husband is not on board.” Others suggested that she should instead “observe Ramzan.” Additionally, some commenters noted that this was their first Holi as a married couple and emphasized the importance of celebrating it together.

In response, Sonakshi modified her caption to say, “Please take it easy in the comments…@iamzahero is in Mumbai, and I am currently on a shoot, which is why we are not together…cool down a bit.” 

Zaheer also shared a heartfelt comment, stating, “Missing youuuuu baby.”

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s love story

Sonakshi and Zaheer were in a relationship for seven years prior to their marriage in June of the previous year. Their initial meeting took place at a party organized by Salman Khan. Zaheer made his acting debut in the 2019 film Notebook, produced by Salman, and later shared the screen with Sonakshi in the 2022 film Double XL as well as in a popular music video.

The couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony on June 23 of last year at their residence in Mumbai. Subsequently, they held a reception for their friends from the film industry, which was graced by numerous celebrities, including Vidya Balan, Rekha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Tabu, and Anil Kapoor.

Sonakshi is set to make her debut in Telugu cinema with the film Jatadhara, featuring Sudheer Babu. Meanwhile, Zaheer was last seen in the 2024 film Ruslaan.
