Actress Sohini Sarkar and musician Shovan Ganguly tied the knot in August 2024. But they are sad at the event that happened in Kolkata just a few days after their wedding. While protesting the RG Kar incident, both of them declared that they would not return to the festival. In fact, they remained unseen during the festival. But they played sindoor in Dashami and joined a homely adda. 

Sohini and Shovan actively joined the protest rallies and events after the RG Kar incident. Sohini was seen leading from the front. When CM Mamata Banerjee called people to return to the festival, Sohini said she would not. She did not remain active in the later movements but did not celebrate Puja either. She celebrated a low-profile birthday also. However, the couple went out on Bijaya Dashami. 

This is Sohini’s first Dashami after her marriage, and every first thing is special. On that day, she played sindoor wearing a red saree and matching blouse. Then they joined an adda where Shovan played guitar and sang a song. Sohini sat beside him. Actress Srabanti Chatterjee captured the moments with her camera. She posted the video on her Instagram Story. 

Sohini Sarkar, though not joining the festival, has acted in some Puja ads as part of her work. She was trolled for this.
