Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan has recently returned to the screen with her role in the horror film Chhorii 2. In a recent discussion, she addressed the criticism she has received regarding her interfaith marriage to Kunal Kemmu, as well as the online harassment she encounters when sharing posts related to her faith during festivals.

Soha Ali Khan on being trolled for her interfaith marriage

Soha discussed the importance of developing resilience in light of the online criticism aimed at her family. She was quoted by Screen, stating, "I have become somewhat thick-skinned; it doesn’t affect me. However, I find it amusing that whenever I share something, people begin commenting on my religion. Since I married into a Hindu family, my mother has a Hindu surname and she is married to a Muslim man. Typically, if we post something for Diwali, inquiries arise about how many rozas I have observed. Similarly, when we post about Holi, comments question what type of Muslim I am. While it doesn’t trouble me, it is something I do notice."

Soha also addressed the persistence of outdated expectations, even among privileged families, remarking, "Even now, in wealthy, well-educated households, there remains an expectation that if you don’t have a son, you are somehow lacking. I have a daughter, and I am very content, as are most people around me. Yet, there lingers a feeling that I have let someone down."

Soha and Kunal first crossed paths on the set of Dhoondte Reh Jaoge and began their relationship in 2009. The couple married in a private ceremony in 2015 after six years together. They welcomed their daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, in 2017 and frequently share charming photos of their family on social media.

All About Soha's acting comeback

Soha Ali Khan made her return to acting in Vishal Furia's horror film Chhorii 2. This sequel to the 2021 movie Chhorii features Nushrratt Bharuccha and Gashmeer Mahajani in significant roles, with Soha portraying the antagonist 'Daasi Maa'. Upon its release, the film garnered a mixed reception from audiences. While many viewers commended the performances of Soha and Nushrratt, a number of them believed that the film was more of a thriller than a true horror experience. Chhorii 2 is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
