Recently, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt requested that photographers refrain from taking pictures of their daughter Raha in light of the recent stabbing incident involving Saif Ali Khan. In response, Soha Ali Khan, whose daughter Inaaya is frequently photographed, expressed her views on the situation, stating that it is sensible to acknowledge this aspect of their profession.
Soha shares her view
In an interview with News18, Soha discussed Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's choice to shield their daughter Raha from media attention.
Soha remarked, "Certainly, Kunal and I engage in similar discussions! However, I believe our relationship with the media has been fortunate and respectful. I recall an occasion when we took Inaaya for a swim, and some paparazzi were present. We asked them not to take photos, and they complied. We have observed that when parents request the media to refrain from photographing their children, they usually honor that request. This level of respect is present here, which may not be the case in Hollywood. Thankfully, we have not reached that point yet."
Soha asserts that being photographed alongside her child is an inherent aspect of her career; however, she emphasizes the importance of children expressing their discomfort to their parents if they feel uneasy.
She remarked, “We have chosen to be public figures, but our children have not. Consequently, I believe they should not be adversely impacted by this. Nonetheless, it is an inevitable part of our lives. Rather than resisting it, it is more sensible to accept the situation and engage in discussions with our children about the interest in us and the presence of unfamiliar individuals taking their pictures for specific reasons. We should reassure them that there is no need for concern or distress, but if they do feel uncomfortable, we must address it and find a solution together. In our case, there is certainly room for such conversations. Additionally, the rise of social media has made parenting significantly more complex. We are navigating an entirely new landscape, and it is essential for us to be a source of love and support for our children.”
