On Monday, during a ceremony held in London, Cruise received the Navy's highest civilian accolade in recognition of his "exceptional contributions to the Navy and the Marine Corps" through his roles in films such as Top Gun, Born on the Fourth of July, A Few Good Men, and the Mission: Impossible series. The event was conducted in London, where Cruise is presently engaged in a project.

In an official statement, the Navy remarked that Cruise has “enhanced public awareness and appreciation for our highly trained personnel and the sacrifices they endure while in uniform.” Following the emergence of images depicting Tom with the medal on social media, the online community extended their congratulations for this well-deserved recognition. However, numerous users on X also noted that judging by the latest photographs, Tom Cruise appears to be showing signs of ageing.

Internet says Cruise is ageing

An X user remarked on Tom's photographs, stating, “Bro has finally aged. Congratulations, Tom.” Another user commented, “Wow, Tom Cruise finally appears old.” A third individual expressed, “Tom is getting old (crying emoji)," while a fourth noted, “I believe this is the first time we are witnessing Tom Cruise truly ageing. Congratulations!!" One person declared, “Breaking: Tom Cruise looks terrible.”

Many viewers struggled to recognize Tom Cruise. An X user remarked, “He’s almost unrecognizable?” Another stated, “That doesn’t look like Tom Cruise.” A third comment read, “He looks quite frightening in this photo,” while a fourth suggested, “Either Tom is ageing or, more likely, he has been using steroids for an infection. The puffy cheeks are a clear indication of steroid use.” One individual lamented, “It’s disappointing to see Tom age, man. The guy didn’t seem to age for 50 years, and now it’s taking a turn.” Some even noted that Tom now resembles Jason Bateman.

On the acting front, Tom Cruise is set to appear in Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, scheduled for release in May 2025. He will also feature in the upcoming supernatural thriller Deeper, which is currently in the early stages of development. Deeper will follow an astronaut who encounters a terrifying force during a deep dive into an unexplored ocean trench.
